Cleopatra Inspired

I didn’t see or think that when I bought this AMAZING tunic, but my fiance pointed it out to me. I can definitely see it in the sparkle, the color, and the shape of the sleeves. Plus my haircut and the eyeliner; it’s definitely an inspired look! This is one of my favorite tops right now. It’s well made and makes me feel understatedly glamourous. I wore this for my fiance’s birthday dinner at the Vortex. It was pretty low key, being a Monday and all.

Tunic: Macy's $65
Leggings: Torrid $28
Boots: Kohl's $55
Earrings: Forever 21 $2
Bracelet: Betsey Johnson via Macy's $35

I ended up baking him a silly little cake for his birthday that I was kind of proud of, and ended up putting up the Christmas decorations, finally! I was a bit sad to see all my beautiful ornaments go in a box, but it just is a reminder of it being a brand new year.  Overall, it was a day full of sparkles and sprinkles! Oh, and amazing food.

State of Emergency

Oh man! I think today has been on of the most fun days I've had in awhile. Spring semester of college was supposed to start, but Mother Nature answered our "I'm not ready" prayers and gave Atlanta about 8 inches of snow over night! It hasn't snowed here like that in years. Needless to say, everyone was outside playing all day. We reluctantly drove up to the gas station for beer, then spent the rest of the day sledding on pool toys, taking photos, and going on walks. It was fabulous. I took a picture of my outfit, but I honestly do not have a wardrobe prepared to be cute in snow. I ended up dressing for warmth rather than style, so I'm forgo-ing the photo. Sorry! It's in both our best interests.

Here's some pretty snow photos to look at. We will be back to your regularly scheduled outfits tomorrow. I've got several piled up from the past week that will be making their way to you shortly.

Pearls on Top of Pearls

This is just a little outfit I put together to go out with some friends over the holidays. I really like having a simple color palette with lots of flair. I love the hat and pearls. They give this whole outfit it’s life. The cardigan was ordered online, and is one of my favorite items I’ve come across from the Forever 21 plus line. But, by the end of the night one of the buttons completely came off. The rest were barely sewn onto the sweater when I got it. I can’t complain too much because of the price, but I’d suggest knowing how to sew a bit if you order from them!

Short sleeved cardigan: Forever 21 Plus, $17.80
Black tank: Target $10
Leggings: Torrid $28
Boots: Kohl’s $55
Hat and strings of pearls: Forever 21, gifts.

We also cleaned up our little place for the New Year's party, and I went through my jewelry box, which is more like a box of jewelry that I had to rummage through. I had no idea how much I had shoved in these tiny little compartments! I'm going to try and wear all of it at least once over the next few weeks instead of sticking to the same few pieces. Here's a little sneak peak.

One One Eleven.

New Year's is such an interesting time. I realized this year how optimistic and introspective everyone seems to get as the year comes to an end. Everyone is hoping for this year to be their year, ever year. You have to admire the tenacity of humans sometimes. I love New Year's for this very reason. It's the one time everyone is looking toward the future, and no one is shaking their head at anyone's resolutions or dreams.

Dress: Macy's $35
Tights: Target $10
Boots: Kohl's $35
Bow Necklace: Macy's, gift

I actually bought this dress a few months ago at a Macy's sale. I had seen it before, not in plus size, and fell in love. So when I found out it had been made in my size, I gasped and rushed to the dressing room. I had been drooling over sequined cocktail dresses for awhile now, and this one fit the bill for the occasion. I ended up having a small party at my place for New Year's. We usually have a rager, or go out to a show. This year I wanted something more intimiate, and to be surrounded by people who I truly love and who love me. It was fabulous. We had such a lovely time, as you can tell from the pictures.

I made no resolutions this year like to stop smoking or lose weight, but some goals to better myself and my life. I think I'm on the path to so many wonderful things, and I am excited for the year to come. I guess I'm just another one of those suckers, but I can't help but smile looking forward. I wish you all a very happy new year!
